Estevan like all subdivided Towns/Cities, was divided into Legal Blocks, each given a number, And then Legal Lots, subdivided inside each Block. Each Lot is given a Civic Address, shown here with #sign in front. Original Part of Estevan was surveyed in Aug 1892, by George Murray, from Weyburn. Avenues- run N-S, Streets- run W-E Hillside was subdivided in 1912, originally owned by the Hudson Bay Company in Apr. 4, 1884. SW part of Section 26, Range 8, Township 2, W2. Hillside Lots were originally sold by Scott, Scramlin & Hellikson, Exclusive Agents, in 1912 Block 1- in Hillside- #900 Block of King St, and George St. East of Souris Ave. Block 2- Block 3- Louis Boey's Store was located at #937 Henry St. in this Block, Became Hall Funeral Home; Civic Lot #938, Little J's Convenience Store, has been on the corner of Souris Ave. and Eva St. for decades. Block 4- Block 5- Block 6- Block 7- Block 8- Block 9- Block 10- Block 11- Block 12- #837 Isabelle St. House built in 1956 in Lampman, moved to Estevan, Originally rented to the Homer Bish Family, He was the Manager of Utility Coals at that time. My family, Phil and Helen Gent, and their 3 sons, moved into their house in 1958.
