Immigrated to USA from Sweden to New York, USA in 1888, and Canada in 1903
His wife was Lydia Campbell Peterson
In 1908 he was on the First Estevan Library Board
Bought the Eureka Coal and Brick Co. South of Estevan in 1910,
Changed the name to Estevan Brick and Coal Co.,
Before he moved to Shand in 1913 to buy the Shand Mine and Brick yards.

Considered the founder of the Hamlet of Shand.
